Picked up the x-clio 450 and i missed the fact that it has a combined 150w on the +3.3 and +5 which seems rather low. I am looking to run an a64 3200+. 6800GT pci-e, an n4 mobo (possibly sli for the future), 1 gig ram, 2 opticals, 2-3 HDD and 4 fans or so.
I had figured on getting an sli board now and then if/when i go to sli i could use this PSU in another rig. But the combined 150 seems awfully low, no? I plan on oc'ing some, not setting world records, just normal stuff.
The 6800gt will run off pci-e connector. Does this matter? I mean, will that decrease the load on the +5 and put it on the +12? Is that the point of the connector?
I'm wondering if i should return (or shelve) this and get a new one now or wait and see how the multi reads. It's just a pita having to swap out a week after getting everything up and running (hopefully next week).
edit-- i know this will run my rig at stock fine, i'm just not sure about any oc'ing strangling it.
