The Mars Volta and Sparta have both been much better than expected, but after listening to In Casino Out again this afternoon I realized just how much i miss At The Drive In. Sure 2 good bands came out of the fallout but for every song as good as Chanabara was we get like 3~4 simply ok ones. Maybe I should just stop whining and be grateful that my favorite muscians are still doing anything at all.
 
I really miss ATDI too... I'm a huge TMV fan as well. Sparta is just so-so for me as their last CD was pretty terrible.

Everytime I listen to Casino or Relationship of Command they still blow me away.
 
I like them well enough, but I have to be in a pretty specific mood to really enjoy any of their incarnations.
 
So of the ATDI fans....whats been your favorite TMV album/song so far. For me it is De-loused in the comatorium as an album and Take the veil cerpin taxt as a song, but i really do like the first few tracks off of the bedlam in goliath as well...can;t say i know the names of the songs yet....damned arbitrary names cedric and the bunch come up with 🙂

De-Loused is an instant classic that I can enjoy cover to cover but I've found something awesome to enjoy on all of their records. Amputecture was bashed by critics but I think two of my favorite TMV songs ever are on that CD and the flow is fantastic. Their new one is really good too... Frances is the weakest in my opinion but the jam out of the 4-5 songs in a row + cygnus which is an unreal track and lvia make up for the weakeness/strangeness of a few of them.
