I miss the 80s.

I grew up in the 90's so I'll go with that. I think its pretty much whatever decade you grew up in is what you have the best memories of

i am watching The Karate Kid 1984 for the 3rd time this week. i never get tired of this movie. the nostalgia, action, music everything reminds me of a better time in the 80s. life was simply simpler and better. im pumped andlifting weights now because of this movie.

oh god. the 80's..fashion sucked. music was slightly over the top.

but hell the bears won teh super bowl so its good!

The 80's had the worst culture of any decade of the last 50 years. All the music in this thread is shit.

Agreed. I don't know how anyone could have lived in the 80s and retain any fond memories of it. Other than Nintendo the 80s were awful. Movies, music, style.

i only miss a few things of the 80's. Decent movies and tv shows, arcade rooms, the price of gas and V8's.....well actually theres quite a few things i miss from the 80's...but not computers though. god i couldnt imagine going back to that crap.

Holy fvck the lead singer for the Bangles is smoking still.

damn, she looks awesome. she must have been very young when they had those hits.

We all have our favorite decade but I have to agree with the OP ... the 80s were my favorite as well. So many great things happened to me in the 80s that I can't describe them in this post.

Didn't MTV actually play music videos in the 80s?

I miss the 80s and the early 90s for a different reason than what most are discussing in here. It was a time when if you wanted to have fun you pretty much had to go outside. You rode around on bikes with the neighborhood kids from sun up to sun down, maybe hopping off at some point to play football or basketball or go exploring in the woods, etc. etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the tech world we live in now too but really miss the more 'personal' world I grew up in too.

Yep, good points. When I was a kid in the early 80s, I did play video games but it was balanced with many other things -- playing with Star Wars toys, playing sports, exploring the area on our bikes, etc. These kids nowadays are missing out on so much. God damn, I sound like an old man.
