I really miss getting random stuff from Internet strangers. Remember the good-ol' days? :D

You don't need secret Santa for that. Just go to 4chan and Reddit, post your name, your address and ask people to send you random stuff anonymously. You'll get stuff. 99% of it might be sperm, anthrax and flaming dog poop, but you will get random stuff from internet strangers and it's the thought that counts.

I'm still holding a grudge against Reddit's secret santa scam, where the jerk that I got to send a gift never gave me any ideas as to what he wanted for Christmas.

I ended up sending him a Newegg gift card, and he didn't even bother to sending me a present in return.

I'll buy you something! Then wrap it up, put it under the tree. Then open it and drink it.

Then I wont tell you anything about it. It'll be a super secret Santa!

Not falling for that again. 4th time, shame on me!

Oh right I totally forgot about that. Only ended up going in 1 year. It's crossed my mind to do the Reddit one, though it's probably too late now.

Start early to give more time for getting the gifts. Like late October, or 6 weeks before mid Dec.. Make it a random selection of whatever gifter wants to give. You receive what was given.

I suddenly had a flashback to 6-7 years ago when I sent my "victim" a nice gift pack and as a gag I included a framed/autographed photo of me bundled with some latex gloves and some hand lotion. I never heard back and spent weeks with anxiety afterward thinking an intended joke seriously offended someone

I would be more worried that the recipient liked the picture a little too much and spent so much time using the lotion and gloves that they never got around to a proper thank you.

I'd be in if we started doing this again. There are really only like 15 people that post in this forum at this point though so I doubt this would work.

Yeah pretty much ... last one 2 (?) years ago barely made the minimum as I recall.

Used to be a lot of fun .... :(

Yeah, that was good times. As an adult, you don't always get thoughtful stuff for Christmas anymore...not gonna lie, it was pretty awesome to get neat stuff from a fellow geek!

Also, I apologize to anyone who became diabetic because of my sugarcoma-inducing presents.
