i miss games like Final Fantasy 3

will there ever be a game that can match up to that?

I mean.. i usually play sports games on my xbox... but i miss playing games like FF3 back in the days.....
I'm gonna go buy the star wars:KOTOR game... but i know it's gonna be nothing like it. :frown:

games like FF3 as in what? the old style RPG's that had more to do with story then teh crappy movies?
if so i agree. the latter FF games had to much of the crappy moves and not enough gameplay.

i'd love to see a final fantasy game go back to 2d. with ps2's capabilities, it would be violently detailed and just beautiful.

An English patch will soon be released by the SNES gaming emulation community which will allow you to play one of the best Japanese RPGs from the Super Famicom (Japanese SNES). Of course, this requires that you have a ROM image file (created from cartridge ROM data). You can back up a legitimate cart, but most of the emulation community are sharing the files anyway because it was a late-'90s game and exclusive to Japan (still illegal). I believe the Star Ocean patch will be released to the public before Christmas.

I agree. these CGI movies that masquerade as games are crap. i get tired of all the little movies in the game.

all of the japanese FF have been patched for years. also, they were released on the ps1.

i'd think u'll like KOTOR. its not an action rpg, the fighting is a la FF. i loved FF3, chrono trigger, trust me, u'l like KOTOR.

chronotrigger was one of the best games ever.

Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US) is my favorite game ever. I'm playing through for like the 50th time.

I just got Cyan.

At the part where you have to protect Terra with the Moogles, I stole Mog's Mithril stuff and I'm still using it. It's better than anything else that I have.

You should play KOTOR, it's really fun and interesting. It has a good story, gameplay, etc. I too miss games like FF3 (I also liked FF7), but a ton of games back then were crap too.

I still find that I get as much or more enjoyment out of SNES and Arcade (via MAME) games than I do the latest, greatest stuff for my Gamecube or Xbox.

FF3 I'll always know it as FF3. When someone says FF6 but they mean FF3 (US), I think of them as some fat, greasy, anime nerd that's obsessed with Japanese culture!

I hate what I know about modern Japanese culture. Ancient Japanese culture is interesting, I suppose, but I'm all Japaned out.
