I guess I'm from an earlier era, I remember Sugar Daddy's and Brown Cow caramel suckers. Much like Bonimo turkish taffy they are all gone now.

This chocolate syrup used to be the best, why on earth did it get pulled from the market? Is it still sold anywhere? I havent seen it in years.
Hi. I realize this response is about 8 years late, however, I thought you might still be missing Brown Cow Chocolate Syrup so I wanted to share this news. Our company just became the exclusive importer of the Original Brown Cow Chocolate Syrup.

Brown Cow was made in a plant in Smith Falls,
Ontario Canada for the North American market
Hershey's closed the plant. Was it 1994 ? Could be; was before 2000 anyway.
It disappeared off the shelves and even store managers didn't know it had been discontinued. Shelf spot remained empty for many months.
When I got word the plant was closed. ( live in southwestern Ontario )
I informed the grocery store chain, that they were not getting any more and moved quickly to secure several cases, as l saw what a disaster this was.
I called Hershey, Pensilvania (head office); to locate product.
Yes there was a phone number with someone who actually answered.
Unfortunately, the smart assed girl who answered the phone (and knew all about it)
Would not forward me to anyone who could help. After a long discussion, I sighted
Failure to post "end of life" notification: as required by Canadian law. She hung up on me, eventually.
As a result, I know all Hershey's off brands, and there have been no Hershey products in this household for over 25 years. I alone have cost them thousands.
No, the other Hershey's syrups are not similar. I have never found anything even close.
I had over a dozen companies send me samples, from all over the world. Was fixed for chocolate syrup for years. Was it the syrup used by dairys to make chocolate milk ?
Could have been. You may have noticed chocolate milk is not what it used to be?
If I could have ever secured the formula (recipe) there would be a new cow on the block. Because that is what I was going to call it " New Cow on the block"
