What is WS support? Wide Screen ?
I still play the game and have tons of fun, however there are some really annoying bugs in the game which apparently will never be addressed, like:
1. Parachutes fail to deploy too often, even when hammering the '9' key.
2. Anti Tank rounds fly straight through jeeps too often, its like the jeep's hitbox is the size of a rabbit.
3. Small arms fire can pass through an open chain-link fence, but the APC's cannon cannot. Neither can a tank's main cannon.
4. Ejecting from helicopters often results in immediate death
5. If you exit a vehicle but the vehicle was on a slide slope and begins to slide and touches you - you die.
6. If you wedge yourself between something like a tank and a wall- you die.
7. Sometimes you join a server and no one can create a squad - the server has to be restarted
8. Sometimes when you are in a squad and the round ends, you stay in the squad but the squad becomes detached somehow from the rest of the team. No one can join it and you cannot leave.
9. Sometimes you join a server and your unlocks are not available. You have to rejoin the server again.
Pretty much nails most of the major issues with BF2. A couple things you missed, though:
10. You have to have the DVD in the drive to play a multi-player only game that requires a legit key to even play online? WTF? Thank goodness for mini-images.
11. Ridiculously long time to connect to account server.
12. Ridiculously long loading times.
13. Random crashes to desktop causing you to have to suffer through 11 and 12 again.
14. Bad choppiness/lag even on high-end machines. Sometimes the game will "freeze" for a second or two to load resources or whatever and when it comes back, you've been booted from the server (and have to sit through 12 again).
As for widescreen support, a friend of mine had a widescreen monitor and there was a way to specify the resolution from the command line parameters. I'm not sure what it is offhand, but it can be done. Some things on the HUD get stretched out kind of funny, though.
