I might double major in CompEng/Comp Science, what university should i attend?

I'm sure there are alot of comp eng people here and i was wondering what you guys think are the best eng schools since i'm going to major in comp eng and might double major with comp scine. I live in Florida and was wondering if UF or FSU any good at comp eng or comp science? I wouldn't mind leaving the state though but would be cheap for me if i stay that is of course if UF or FSU is any good.

Are you ECE? I'm going back this fall for the MSEE program.

I've taken eng classes at berkeley before also and it's not like the teaching is better. Reputation wise though, there's no comparison.

The best graduate EE school is not necessarily the best undergrad program.
But Cornell is definitely #1 In all seriousness having taken a lot of comp eng classes at Stanford, I probably wouldn't have liked it as undergrad, because of the quarter system. It seems like before I bother to check the check what the course schedule is, the class is almost over. With semester, you have about a month to get up to speed, but quarters, you gotta hit the ground running.

UC Davis has a major called Comp Science and Engineering. This major has a mixture of both Comp Sci class and Engineering class (go figure). So it's sort of like two majors in one.

BTW, I'm going to Davis next year.

Usually as a Comp. Eng, you'll need to take a lot of CS anyways, so it will not be the same as getting a major in EE and Chem-E. It will be some more work though, but definitely doable. I think Berkeley has unified EECS major.

Confirmed, Berkeley has a EECS program that combines the benefits of EE (mostly hardware) and CS. I was confused when I picked out my major for Davis, because I thought they offered EE and CS blend also, but turned out that's not the case.

R.P.I. is a very well-reputed school. My ex went there for MIS, but I know they're good for engineering too. He works in IT for Goldman-Sachs now and they heavily recruit from R.P.I.
