I might be buying a 3/4 ton truck.

Stupid? Maybe...

Its a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins Diesel.
6 speed.
All power options, leather, etc.

Why, in this time where gas prices are going up, would I buy such a large vehicle?

I've gotten fascinated with the idea of Biodiesel, and locally you can buy B20 at about five to ten cents cheaper than dino diesel, and I'd like to start making my own...
The truck gets 23 MPG highway
The engine could pull a house off its foundation
It rides like a Cadillac.

So thats why, now where's my cookie?

cookie from me. I love those trucks.
it will give you many miles of no maintenance service and be useful when you need it to as well. If it wasn't for "fun" factor of a big truck, and gas prices, I'd have bought one myself.

Sweet! got :camera:?
I want something like this
Text

For all you suv/truck haters who think I won't even use it for its intended use...I'll haul stuff....

HAUL ASS!!!!

Quick question: Why is it called a 3/4 ton truck? The truck obviously weighs more than 3/4ths of a ton.

We have a 2002 Ram 2500, cummins turbodiesel, 6spd manual tranny. A fun truck to drive, gets better gas mileage than my 96 Tacoma with a V6, and will tow just about anything.

At least its not an Excursion V10 for a soccer mom. If you're gonna use it, good. If its diesel, even better. Biodiesel, you're the fvcking man

They equipped like half the buses on campus with biodiesel and you can pick them out easily. They run smoother, cleaner, quieter, so much better. 😎

Although I'm not a fan of Dodge trucks 'no particular reason' I am of Deisel.
I can't wait til some of the smaller trucks and SUV's start getting deisel in them!
I commute too and to get something that doesn't eat gas but still gives me the versatility I want . . . a 3/4 is too big for wht I need tho

Make sure to chip it so you can blow away all the ricers with your big ass truck 😀

Performance tuners will make that thing go like a bat out of hell or give you even better MPG

Fvck Bulldog (truck ecu mod, not my school maskot), Banks is the way to go. Oh and look up Bank's 700hp 1000lb-ft "prototype" (requires Duramax).

Why not do the banks then stack it with the bullydog! Just replaced the tranny first!!!! Banks+BullyDog = one BAD ASS TRUCK!!!!

You cant. Banks adds a turbo, cold air intake, exhaust system, and its own ECU mod (same thing as Bullydog).

A guy I work with has a Banks system, he was talking about stacking the BullyDog on it. He knows his stuff about his trucks too.

---Im talking about Banks 6 Gun System, stacking it with the Bullydog.

I suppose just a 6 gun and a ecu mod would work if he could get into the ecu and tune it himself, but I wouldnt mess with the two together, Id would atleast change the piston rings before doing both.

I also remember the protoype had a reworked/aftermarket torque converter to handle the extra power.

Well he has already trashed his tranny with just the Banks system on there. He didn't hook up the wire to cut it out when the tranny started slipping. ehhh.... Stupidty.

 its the capacity of the bed.

 Because everybody knows that...

anyone who cant figure that out on their own is a freaking idiot. the truck obviously weighs more than 3/4 of a ton, so that cant be it. what the hell else would you be measuring with that number?

if you cant guess the approximate range of the weight of a vehicle, then you either have no spatial skills or you are an idiot, and not having spatial skills makes you somewhat of an idiot all by itself.
