That's why i always wait for the money to transfer out of paypal before I send. Takes longer, but with all these scammers...

That doesnt work. Paypal will happily make your account go negative after a chargeback (which will happen in cases of fraud) and then you will be reported to creditors if you dont pay it back. Its all about proving you shipped the item to the CONFIRMED address and that it was actually delivered. Otherwise the seller is not protected. I learned the hard way

if you can't stop the shipment, it'll take a while to get to russia, just get a new bank account, and transfer it to that, delete all your other paypal stuff (thereby removing any permission they have to take money out of it), and then transfer the money from the new bank account into your regular one. What's it take, 3 days to get a new bank account verified w/ payapl, you'll have plenty of time. And, if they try and overdraw the new bank account after you've emptied it (You could just close it too), and they make a deal about it, you're in a whole lot better situation because you'll have the money and then they?ll have to bother listening to you for once.

EDIT: lol, now that you have it, just contact ebay and say the buyer required you ship it to an unconfirmed address, it'll take a bit, but you'll get the money back.

Paypal cannot take money from your bank account should this turn out to be fraudulent, but you could end up with a negative paypal balance.

Paypal won't let you close your account if you have a chargeback or pending transactions. You can leave your negative balance but they will try to call collections ---> bad news for your credit score. I had an ebay sale that went fine (so I thought), I was paid by CC through paypal, I sent the item, item arrived, all was well. SIX MONTHS later I got a chargeback. Turns out a kid had been using his parents CC to buy all kinds of stuff and the parents found out and reversed the charges. It took six months for paypal to let me know, obviously the $$ was long ago spent and I was still out my item. Paypal would not cover me against my loss as I did not buy delivery confirmation. The issue had nothing to do with whether or not the item had arrived, the fact was a kid had used a CC fraudulently, but paypal did not care. I had to work it out on my own with the kids parents. For this reason I now use paypal as little as possible.

They stick it to you in fees and then turn their back on you when you could really use some cooperation.

what happens when you get a neg balance I have one after some idiot said he never got it which he did and my account was locked long story but now I got a neg balance I still don't know what they will do

my question is how does a person who's been a member of this forum for almost 3 years not know thats a scam? change your name to brainnotfound.

damn, i thought i stated i got a full refund on the shipping charges, refunded the money to the scammee, so basically the only money i wasted was driving to the post office twice.

They will just take the money from the attached bank account.

This is false. Ive owed Paypal $$ various times and it went negative. They kept sending me emails to add funds to bring it to 0. I said No way and they froze my acct. And sent it to collections. I told the collection agency to sue me and that ended it. Nothing ever showed on my credit report.
