 at the title of this thread

but, back to the point. I could be mean and let you guys guess, but in the spirit of courtesy and common sense I figure I'd just tell you ;)

This girl was from Antartica. Thats right boys she was from Antartica. She was born in Chile but lived and grew up most of her life on the South Pole. She was probably about 20 years old. I never did learn her name, the people she was with called her 'sea bass' so I just called her that.

But it was pretty fascinating. Something kinda cool, but not, all at the same time. She was pretty sociable as well, I was kinda surprised :p

Where did she go to school? ...what was her life like down there?

I think I'd have a million questions for someone from there.

as i said, she'd have had to lived on a research station her whole life, which sounds VERY unlikely to me, i can't imagine they'd let you keep children with you there for years...

she could have been there for a while i guess, but more likely she was playing you for a chump...

Or maybe just one ;)

I think she was getting annoyed at how many questions I was asking her. There were a couple families that lived there. They lived in some nice establishment, with "floors". She said she went outside "sometimes".

There was a boat that came by about every month where they got food and other supplies from. Her dad works for the US government doing research on sattelite signals and Antartica was the prime research place because of the thin ozone layer

you could be right, I never did get the exact number of years she was down there for. I kept emphasizing that how amazed I was that she grew up there, implying she was there for at least most of her childhood and she didnt correct me. She didn't seem like the type that would lie about it for kicks either, so who knows

What about school? How much interaction did she have with other people? Does she plan on going back? Where did you meet her?

Sorry, I'm as interested as you probably were :)

ROFL that is your first question?

If they have a satellite research station down there, you could make an educated guess and think "yes they do"

How do they communicate information and receive it? By carrier penguin? :p

she would have to have been on a coastal station then..not the south pole ;)

McMurdo is the biggest, effectively a small town, and it's on the coast.

Well, just because the highfalutin government workers have it doesn't necessarily mean people have private access.

Maybe because she kicks people's asses to compensate for being a large homosexual trucker?

:)

Another question: how pale was she?
