Last night I did a mild overclock of the cpu. These are the exact Bios settings I changed:
In ?Advanced??? ??????. disabled ?C1E support?
? .?????.. disabled ?Speedstep?
In ?AI Tuning??????????changed from ?auto? to ?manual?
?CPU Frequency????????.. changed from ?333? to ?400? (front side bus)
?Spread Spectrum????????. changed from ?auto? to ?disabled?
?PCI Express Freq????????.changed from ?auto? to ?110?
?PCI Clock Sychronization mode??.changed from ?auto? to ?33.33?mhz
In ?Power? settings???????..changed ?cpu Q fan control? from ?disabled? to
?enabled?
In ?Northbridge chipset?/ ?Memory remap??.changed ?disabled? to ?enabled?
I saved and re-booted. Checked with a cpu diagnostic utility, which said the comp was running at 3.6ghz (400x9) at a core temp of 51c. Everything seemed fine. I used Explorer and web-surfed for a while. I left the room to eat supper, and when I returned the monitor screen was dark. ??could not ?wake it up??re-booted comp?.same thing. Got another monitor and connected it?same thing / checked all connections/all fans turning on the MB and case?
