You heard it here first.
I enjoyed Sin City because it was fresh and different. I give that movie a big "it was okay" too. I don't see myself watching it again, ever.
To me that's a big measure of a movie, whether or not I'll sit through it again.

I absolutely love KB.
I just watched Volume 1 again last week. Each time I watch it, I like it more than the last time. I just enjoy everything about it. Regardless of what you think of the story or the dialogue, the filmmaking is simply amazing. The style, the atmosphere, the music, everything.
But it is definitely one of those movies that most people either love or hate.
I thought my wife would hate it, but she loved it.

Whether you like it or not depends on your perspective and what you are expecting it to be. It's not like a regular movie. It's like a piece of art and like art, some people will hate it and see nothing of value and some people will think it's the most amazing thing they've ever seen.
The fact that you hate it doesn't mean you "don't get it" like some say. And the fact that I love it doesn't make me a stupid Tarantino fanboy like some others would say.

You'd think you could spell the guy's name if you are that big of a fan.

If you have never seen Akira or classic anime like it... or if you have and didn't them, that explains why you don't like Kill Bill. In the long series of taking graphic novels and comic books to the big screen, Kill Bill was Quentin's toss in the hat. The gore is over the top because its mimicking a style/art form with live action. So yeah, what sucks for you is brilliant and/or awesome to others. IMO it was one of the BEST transitions from page to screen thats ever been done, Tarantino is da'MAN.

I saw both the kill bills and it was decent. Nothing out of the ordinary, just watchable. However if there is one thing that irks me, it is the horde of Torintino fans who love the movie just because it is made by him. Anytime someone doesnt like the movie, they come screaming for a lynching, castration etc etc. Grow out of it, it's not a master piece by any angle and you cant argue otherwise.

A modern day Spaghetti Western with just some of the best film making talent known to man or beast. Loved it.

I will give Tarantino the credit he deserves in how he captures a shot.
His movies (and few other director's) play like I'm seeing the movie out of my own eyes. The shots, the angles, the lighting, everything is perfect from start to finish.
If his movies are nothing, they are immersive and technically brilliant.
Most movies nowadays play like I'm watching my nine year old play Halo2 on split screen.
They're all over the place, the field of vision sucks, and the scenes are off balance and in the wrong perspective.
I enjoy movies that put me "there". Kill Bill definately does that.
If Tarantino ever does a "Gone with the Wind" or "Titanic" or some sappy cancer movie, it'll go down as an all-time classic.

I liked it okay overall, and I understand why the gore was over the top, but it was over the top. I doubt I'll watch it again, and I'm unsure if I'll see Vol 2 or not.

DUDE:Q

You have to see Vol 2, it's better than the first!!!! There isn't much gore in the second one.

I would have to disagree. I thought the first movie was ok, but the second film just dragged on.

I got both volumes at Blockbuster and sat through both of them last night.
I was surprised I made it through them this time around.
Uma is pretty nasty looking and everyone exhalting her beauty got tiring, but all in all it was okay.
Definately not what I'd hoped for Tarantino-wise.

I second that...volume one had the insane blood gushers, it's like he was making fun of violence...but Volume II might've been one of the worst thing I ever sat through. Ever.
