I made the wrong choice... ;p

I'd finally had enough with my SB live.

I was torn but settled for the Philips Acoustic Edge. I am no where near disappointed, but I was concerned whether I made the right choice (until now). The sound is so much richer and cleaner.

No more pops in Quake 3 with Win2k !!!! Outstanding.

Now I just need some better speakers.. I only have a pair. I need the surround setup.

do u have the game max payne? if u do play it for a while and tell me if u notice and loud pitch noise coming out of your speakers when u do bullet time or whatever that thingy is called 🙂

cause when i had my AE it did that 🙁

I have no such problem in Max Payne on my main rig. The sounds are clear and the placement is excellent with my AE and Promedia 8.2 setup. I was just playing earlier tonight and there are no strange sounds when using bullet time...only a heartbeat sound... Oh yeah, this is on Win2K SP2 and the 1.55 drivers for the AE....🙂

I have the exact same issue under Win XP with the newest AE drivers. I've also noticed that the sound tends to distort quite a bit if a system sound plays, or if I attempt playing an MP3 during a CD burn.

Well, I've fallen again. This time it isn't because of the great sound quality.

The AE is crashing my system left and right. Blue screens galore, stutter lockups, you name it.

Unload the drivers and the problems disappear. Sh!t. I was so excited, now I am so disappointed.

I have another post going regarding this and what other Tiger MP users are using. I'll probably take the card back tomorrow.

See ya.
