I bought a nice 3 3/4 pound boneless pork shoulder blade roast.

I made a rub for it and a BBQ type sauce for it.

I cooked in my crock pot for 12 hours during the night. I took it out began shredding it.

OMG this tastes great!

and of course I took pics!

i cook about 4-5lbs of chicken breasts in my slow cooker and eat it for lunch throughout the week. it's amazing how good things can taste coming out of it with how little effort you have to put into it.

10 bucks a pound for pork up in canada? wow that tbone steak prices.
what can I say?

The blade roast is hard to find here and I was forced to pay a little more than I should have, but I don't do it often.

Things are generally just more expensive here.

My wife is doing that tomorrow for our moving party this weekend. Pulled pork is so tasty. And simple. And cheap. It's basically the trifecta of what you want from food.

Still overpriced though. I got my 25 pounds at $2.35 per.

I usually use pork shoulder for pulled pork, can get it on sale for .79 cents a pound. Which reminds me that I've still got a 6 pound hunk in the freezer. Got to pick up some cabbage to make slaw, some nice rolls and make pulled pork sandwiches this weekend.

Where the hell do you get shoulders for .79 a pound.

The best I've EVER seen it was 2.00 minimum

Where the hell do you buy pork shoulder for 2.00 a pound? Around here a bad price is $1.79 a pound, easy to find at 1.29 and a couple of times a year some supermarket will have it at .79 to .99 or so. Shop-Rite is the best in this area, when it's .79 a pound I usually pick up 2 or 3 full shoulders around 12-14 pounds and have the butchers cut them in half and freeze them.

Was considering pointing that out myself, but decided it wasn't worth it.
Smoker BBQ is time consuming and takes a decent bit of effort.

?

No way. I just did 4 Boston butts on Saturday for my daughter' graduation party. Lit the coals at 12am, put them on at 1am, relit the coals at 5am and foil covered the butts, and coasted until 1pm. Served at 2pm and they were absolutely fantastic. Best I ever made.

It's regularly under $2 at Costco and Sam's Club. I don't buy unless it's under $1.50/lb. If you pay more than $2/lb, you're shopping at wrong places or not waiting for sale/price drop. At above $2, I rather buy ribs than shoulder/butt.
