I made nachos. *PICS* - LilPima Approved!

I made some nachos today. They were originally intended to be celebratory nachos for the Eagles game, but as it turns out they wound up being consolation nachos. Here's what I used:

- 1.3lbs ground beef
- Herr's tortilla chips
- Pepper Trading Co. 2 Olive Roasted Garlic salsa
- Kraft Mexican shredded cheese blend
- Breakstone sour cream

I cooked the meat, then put it over the chips and added cheese. I baked it for about 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Surprisingly enough, they turned out really good.

My nachos (and this thread) are LilPima approved.

Note: The nachos were discussed in the IRC channel. You should definitely check out the thread and join up and chat. Good times!

Now for the pics:
before baking in the oven
post-bake
ready to eat with sour cream and salsa
action shot

LOL. Hawt. 😉

In the pre-oven pic, there appears to be plenty of cheese, but this is quickly ruled out post-bake.

Looks good overall.

Thanks. I had no idea what I was doing... I was originally thinking about going for tacos, but LilPima convinced me otherwise.

Definitely needed more cheese though. 😛

I love nachos, maybe my all-time favorite snack. Instead of ground beef I use Hormel chili. The combination of crisp, salty chip, melty cheese, chili, salsa and sour cream is just perfect. YUM!

That sounds pretty good. I might have to give that a try next time, thanks!

i think if you are going to load those suckers up

Try using that Tositos Gold kind of chip

they are thicker and bake better imo

i loves me some nachos

(or green olives, as long as they are sliced)

I looked for those (and other better chips) and the small-ass grocery store didn't have them. Next time I'll go to Superfresh or Whole Foods and get some better stuff.

I was going to get Jalapenos... but again, the small-ass grocery store that I went do didn't have much in the way of fresh veggies... what they did have didn't look too awesome. 🙁
