OP just get some scented candles or something that smells of pipe tobacco, take it from a smoker, it's a bad fucking idea to get started.

Pipe tobacco, is a glorious smell.

Agree with other posters. Try some. Mild cigars or grab a pipe. Make sure you have someone teach you how to pack, light, enjoy and clean a pipe. So worth it.
