But I used pre made sauce that they sell in supermarket. Does anybody know how to make sauce from scratch?

Do you use canned/jarred or powder and ground beef? I am rather lazy so I use the canned stuff. I HATE cooking so you cook it, I'll eat it.

Barilla mushroom is the best sauce you can buy in the store. Very good stuff.

Thanks for the idea. I'll make it tomorrow. 🙂

Its not that difficult.

Lightly saute your fav. veggies + garlic in olive oil and to this add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and some wine. Add spices to taste. Simmer and serve.

Takes a while, but it's worth it. 🙂

<< Oh yeah, don't forget the garlic bread. >>

I like the French bread you get as an appetizer at spaghetti restaurant near me.

Jolly, this sounds easy. I think I'm gonna try this. 🙂

Anybody knows how to make alfredo sauce? The powdered sauce that they sell sux, and the only way to eat alfredo is to go to the restaurant 😀

i just use the ragu sauce as a base.. then i cook the ground beef .. drain the fat.. sautee onions and mushrooms and fresh tomatoes and mix it all together. =)

my own personal recipe:

extra virgin olive oil and lots of garlic (as much as you can get your hands on) 😀
sautee in skillet for about 3 minutes
at the same time, have some form of pasta (gemelli, fusilli) cooking (cook al dente)
after taking garlic out, put green peppers (sliced) and broccoli (lots!) and other vegetables that you have available in same sautee pan. sun-dried tomotoes are good if you have those
pour about 1/2 cup water in pan and stir vegetables -- get them out *ASAP* -- they will be lightly cooked and still a little crunchy
add parmigiano and cracked black pepper

the final step is to inivte me over 😉

ahh i make my own sauce and i love it. so does the girlfriend and her family. ive always got to make it for her, but it has its benefits.

Involves: garlic powder, tomato sauce, sugar, garlic, crushed red pepper, oregano and italian seasoning. and lots of cooking time

Also make meatballs with italian seasoning, milk and of course ground beef.

Nothing like apartment living where I have to figure out how to cook and have to feed myself and being a poor college student spaghetti is the way to go.

I like capellini better than spegetti, and it cooks faster. I use Prego fresh mushroom to which I add fried fresh portabello mushrooms and garlic seasoned hamburder

capellini/angel hair is indeed very good. Another tasty variation is rice pasta or any regular pasta not made from semolina but from some other grain.

my favorite sauce topping:

brown celery and onions together. add some garlic (finely minced only). to that mess you add tomatoes and a bit of paste. season with basil, oregano, and parsley and throw in whatever 'shroom you can find 😉. A variation could be adding ground meat/tofu or using a bit of cream with the onions/celery. Bell peppers also tend to add flavor. I just use whatever is in season to make sure the food is fresh. If I have no time, I just cheat and use Prego and add in random veggies and use that as sauce.

Cheers ! 🙂

ugh... i HATE meat in my spaghetti sauce, get that crap outta there

i think the hatred comes from high school, when they had spaghetti day, it was spaghetti, old hamburger crumbled up, and grease... NO TOMATO SAUCE AT ALL

so now, all i do is cook the spaghetti, and heat up some canned stuff (usually try to get one w/ lots of garlic and mushrooms) and it tastes fine to me... i'm not really a fan of homemade sauce

You've not tasted a decent spaghetti sauce with meat yet!!! My bf is a master chef in making this kind of sauce... yum 🙂

Usually, he puts a lot of meat, chunky tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, onions and garlic... Hmmmm YUMMY!!! 🙂
