I love mine, but I am starting to see games finally push this card over the limit as far as my res and IQ level is concerned.

I wish I loved my new Nvidia videocard but I don't have a lot of love for Nvidia anymore after they planted that buttclown marketing agent in this forum.

But I bought the best $126 card at the time and unfortunately ATI is a mess right now during this transitional period. I sure hope AMD doesn't do to ATI what 3Dfx did to STB and vice versa. The competition is needed.

Nvidia's pricing of their new motherboard chipsets and their latest videocards shows us that they will rape us if given the chance. Again, not a lot of love here for Nvidia.

And other vendors won't?

I've got an X1900 512MB crossfire card.

I figured this may do me well until about this time next year, then I will get a direct x 10 card.

This card plays GRAW great.....anything more demanding I may have to go down in resolution alittle....but I see it making it through 2007 just fine for me :)

When I upgrade I'm gonna give this to my son and he is gonna crossfire 2 X1900XT 512MB

Any ideas how long that set up will last him?

Actually, Nvidia has been the one increasing MSRP prices every new gen... ATi sort of tries to keep them down... Just from my memory, 7800GTX was 599 right? X1800 was 549$ although it was (much) better, even when they launched the x1900xtx and nvidia had no competition, they kept the msrp at 549, and then launched a x1950xtx again without competition, at 449$... But as soon as Nv launches its 8800 the MSRP goes up to 649$.. bastards

its not about who has the most powerful card or who has the most expensive card! its about whose card can last the longest without losing to the competitor! now x1900xt was the industry leader for over a year and the newer cards are still being compared to it!

How? The X1900XTX had an MSRP of $650 when it arrived. The 8800GTX was / is $650 as well.

They did have competition, that's why it was $450. The 7950GX2 was the only thing keeping them away from the performance crown and it was pretty expensive. They launched the X1950XTX for similar (sometimes better) performance at a lower price to counter Nvidia's flagship card.
But as soon as Nv launches its 8800 the MSRP goes up to 649$.. bastards
??? ATi did it to.

The X1900XT hasn't even been around for a year.

lol, why would I bad mouth the card I've purchased? Both companies will "rape" us if given the chance, corporations and consumers have different market goals.

Just thought I'd point some of those things out. ATi isn't all that much different than Nvidia when you take a look at the whole picture.

Yes, but then I assume that you agree that without both of them around, the other would certainly charge us even more.

BTW: I bought my ATI X1900 XTX just before the 1950's were released. I decided not to wait for the 1950 to actually come out (there was no firm date after the 'paper launch'). I am SO happy with this card. I run BF2 @ 1600x1200 and get amazing frame rates even with the eye candy cranked up.

Enjoy your card!

Of course, that's why we have $650 GPU's. I don't think either have launched their flagship cards at exactly the same time. Each take advantage of being uncontested for 3-6 months.
