Give your understanding of love and then the question can be answered. In the limited understanding that I have, as I perceive authentic love to be, I love the Taliban.

Though the hard necessities of this world have put them on the opposite side from me in this temporary conflict, though I recognize that force has become inevitable, yet I love them. Though the Taliban regime needs to be removed, yet I look at that as I would look at the amputation of part of my own body. I agree that it is necessary. Yet I love the part that is lost, for it is part of the same whole as myself.

Love is a form of acceptance. To love someone is to accept them regardless of how they look now, in the future, when sick or when wealthy. To love someone is to accept their character as something in your life which you need. Something that without, would cause a void that could eat you alive.

I hope no one in this forum loves me, not because I do not like them, but because I do not feel I know them enough to constitute an emotion that I call love.

Isla threw the word around in a bubbly sense to possibly offset the hateful threads, but I do not think the term love made sense in this thread. Perhaps the term 'like'. I would be flattered to know Isla likes me, but confused to know she loves me. Obviously something must be said for the seriousness in which the term was used, but that is undetectable in a post.

But, in all seriousness, I know what Isla was saying in this thread, regardless of the terms used. Happiness...
