I love my cubicle, I have a window view from the highest point in Baltimore overlooking the Baltimore skyline

I love my cubicle, my office, and my view is amazing. But in a month, we're moving to a remodeled abandoned highschool that the company just purchased. What's worse, the tax dept. (where I work) is going to be located in the basement with no windows.

What sucks:

Longer drive
Really poor neighborhood
No windows
Basement office

Whats nice:
No more toll ( I pay $20 per week in toll)
We have our own floor seperate from the rest of the Finance dept.

I can't really think of many more perks about moving to this location. This kinda sucks.

Set fire to the old school, it will be blamed on local vandals.

Yea, they fixed it all up, got new furniture, painted the place. The company purchased it and restored/remodeled it. But it's still an abandoned high school and we're still in the basement. I dont know, Im going on a tour of the place tomorrow morning with some coworkers, we'll see how that goes. Maybe it's not really bad at all, just the thought of basement depresses me. Im sure gonna miss my view though.

I need :camera:'s of both locations to accurately gauge how I should feel about your plight.

i dunno ... i would hate it if i worked in an area with no windows at all. when I started working here I had the option to go into a single office that had no windows, or a double office that was on the corner (has 5 windows that are probably 10x4).

i took the 2nd one even though I have an office mate. but he quit, so now i have the office to myself :D

assuming you're going through the tunnels, get a friggin EZ Pass w/the commuter plan. it costs $0.40 to go through rather than $2.

kinda OT..but not..

to all you Baltimore-ans....what's fun to do and see in Baltimore?

I'm visiting for Otakon for the weekend and I would like to plan out some other things to do so we don't spend the entire weekend being geeks at the convention center.

I'll be travelling with my brother, his gf, my boyfriend, and my cousin. Any good (but not too expensive) restaurants we can try? bars, clubs? My brother was thinking about catching an Orioles-Yankees game..so we might do that. With the exception of ..well, me...no one's really into the "tourist" things like museums and whatevers..but if there's anything really interesting maybe I can convince them to check it out.

So any help? Sorry for hijacking the thread but i figured i'd get more responses if i asked a thread that already has Baltimore peeps in it. :p sowwie!
