I love Morrissey with all my heart.

I'm just sitting here at 1 am, listening to Roy's Keen by Morrissey, not a new song, and a song I've listened to for years, but it, and so many other Morrissey songs never get old...ever.

Have you ever loved a band or artist so much it felt like god himself created this person/band just for you?

HAHAHAHA....I was listening to The Smiths and Morrissey when you were in diapers and watching Barney on TV. I do understand what you are talking about but I always find it funny that kids think they invented music that was made before their time.

I'm sure some old timer would say the same thing to you about an artist such as the Rolling Stones or Frank Sinatra (if you're even older) or some other artists that been performing since you were in diapers.

No one chooses when they're born, but they can choose the style of music they like. Also, I was finished with children's tv shows before Barney even came out. In fact, even when I was small, I watched normal television (Magnum PI was my favorite show as a kid).

Maladjusted (the album Roy's Keen) came out in 1997, I was listening to it by 1999. It would have been sooner had I discovered Morrissey earlier. Got any other dumb comments?

I'm not dumping on you JLGatsby. I am actually agreeing with you. I was that way about the Beatles when I was young. I listened to the Beatles late stuff when I was about 7 and then rediscovered them in high school and all their early stuff. Some friends of mine, who are about 13 years younger than me, used to think Led Zeppelin was the best band ever and I just laughed because they thought they discovered them and I listened to them in high school as NEW music. I know exactly what you are talking about. In a way I was laughing at myself too. Music is great and it doesn't matter when it was made and when you "discover" it....what is important is how it makes you feel. I really like The Smiths and Morrissey too. I have all their/his albums and most are on vinyl. Enjoy!

I used to listen to the Smith two decades ago. thought they did some pretty clever stuff.

morrissey has a very distinctive voice.

now.. meh, he is a whiner to me. moan and complain. i guess it all depends on where a person's head it at any given time.

You're obviously not weird enough to like Morrissey as much as I do. 😀

It's not for normal people.

Fixed.

I've never heard of that band until I started reading these forums.

I guess all ATOTers sit around watching 24, listening to Iron Maiden, and watching anime porn.

"One of the most influential figures in alternative rock, Morrissey's legendarily sensitive, melancholy persona made him a highly polarizing icon, reviled in some quarters with nearly the same intensity he inspired in his passionately..."

I have never heard of him.

They were one of my favorite groups back in the 80's (along with Roxy Music) but that was due more to Johnny Marr than Morrisey.
