Now that i finally got it to work, had to extract the files, fix the drivers for my viper chipset, compile, compress and it works...

As this is OS i can publish my changes... and i have already emailed the guys at knoppix...

Heh... i might even give Debian a second chance... downloading as we speak... it seems a lot of people are using it... i will probably still prefer slack, but i'll keep up to date with D too...

Does any particular distro support your chipset out-of-the-box (aside from the compile-during-install route)? I'm surprised that KNOPPIX would leave out generic, kernel-level support unless the hardware is ultra new.
