I do, in fact, enjoy that. And have been lucky enough to really connect with some women and have meaningful relationships that have allowed me to learn and grow and be fullfiled in that way. Just getting laid isn't enough for me, thats true, but it is not a matter of not liking it! I appreciate the beauty in purity and the women that don't are just simply not for me, and it is one of the things that bothers me about the personals.

I have to disagree with this. At least with craigslist the girls tend to be shopping for an apartment, house or something, then wind up clicking the personals. More often than not they said they're single but weren't looking, but my ad was intriuging so they replied.

But still, online dating is most often used as a crutch to compensate for the insecurities and lack of confidence that people have when dealing with members of the opposite sex. Not always of course. Oh, and the reason they're shopping for apartments/houses on Craigslist is beause they're such head-cases that their boyfriends/husbands dumped them on their sorry azz, and now they need somewhere to live. 😉

Well that much I'd have to admit to. For the most part, I've always been a bit terrified of women. Dunno why. Once I get to talk to them a bit it goes away, but getting over that initial hump is really hard. As a matter of fact, I've only ever ask *two* women out in my entire life, and teh first of those was only 3 years ago. On the one hand it's pathetic, on the other hand, I've always had women asking *me* out, so it's not an insecurity I've been put in a position that I *had* to overcome.

From experience, I'd say having a date lined up for each day is not that far fetched. But most of the women on these sites are flakes, and will cancel within 48 hours of when the date is scheduled (often < 4 hours before), so with a date scheduled up for every single day, you will be lucky for 2 a week to actually occur.

A lot of people ragging on internet dating here. Thought this audience would be more receptive to the idea. I met my soon-to-be wife off match.com, but I did wade through a lot of crap and a few nuts before I met her. It probably works better in larger cities, but my friend was browsing them a few months back and I was surprised at the increase in the amount of girls around here from back when I was looking.

Anyway, everyone on here says that the girls you meet online must be nuts or something since they're so 'desperate' that they need to go online. Did you never meet a crazy girl at a bar? I've met my fair share of crazy b|tches out many different venues. Everyone and their grandmother has an internet connection not...why the hell not exploit this resource? Its not like its some obscure segment of bottom dwellers that make up the majority of girls on the internet anymore.

And whats your superior alternative for meeting tons of women? The bar scene? Oh yeah, thats a great one. You get to buy drinks for a bunch of trashy women and hope one of them goes home with you. I don't know anyone that had a serious relationship develop from a bar encounter. Work? Thats a pretty limited pool of available women, and its usually a bad idea to mix business with pleasure.

With internet dating you can come home, sit at your computer in your underwear and browse pictures and typed up profiles from single women that are looking in your area. Everyone else, all you can tell is if they're good looking or not. You see the girl in a bar, go up to her and waste your time buying her drinks before figuring out she's nuts or she's a lesbian or hates dogs when you have one or she's already got a boyfriend or she smokes to much weed even for you.

Yeah, you gotta wade through some crappy ones...and yeah, people lie...but how is that different from girls you meet IRL?

I did the internet dating thing while I was in grad school.

I dated/slept with MANY hotties. I don't know if they're looser or crazier but it's indeed a great way to have fun. Not marriage material though! Sex was crazy fun though.

I would do a one hour chat with the ones I screened for a while and then trade pics. If we gelled, then we'd go out dutch and then some dancing and drinks. I could usually get to third base or further on the first date with the dirnks and dance routine......chat rooming helps advance the dating to at least a 3rd/4th date realm--which is usually when girls give it up....

I never proclaimed I was. However I've had no trouble lining up a new attractive date every day with women who answer my ad, so it's clear they find me attractive enough to date. They have their standards and I have mine, both of which are valid.

So on a side note I'm getting tired already. Four dates in I've not found one that I'd like to seriously date although I did wake up next to two of them. I think I need to cut alcohol out of the mix if I'm to end that trend. It's nice and passionate at the time but awkward thereafter. One of them is clear she's fine just finding a f***buddy but I don't need another one of those...

I'm taking today and tomorrow off to regroup then stack them Wed on.

I find myself struggling with the "if she sleeps with you right way then she's not gf material" issue. It's hypocritical but I find it to be something I agree with. Dating, particularly online is such a time sink I hate to exclude sex as an option. Besides, you have to be physically compatible, right? 🙂
