I'm in the Army so I'm somewhat familiar with M16 and the M249 SAW (squad automatic weapon). The SAW fires the same round (5.56mm) as the M16 but it is magazine fed or box fed (200-round box I do believe) and it is, obviously by it's name, fully automatic. From a realistic home defense point-of-view however I rather like the H&K USP .40 for a pistol and, for the people who want to shoot first and not have anybody left to ask questions to, the Ruger Super Redhawk .454 Casull.

The High Power get's little fanfare, but it is a superior pistol! Several Marines I know prefer them over the Baretta. The best shot I ever knew chose a HP for his favorite. He was an amazing shot!

Thanks Tominator :DI thought maybe I was putting my foot in my mouth again by stating that! I out shot my buddy who has been around guns his whole life and works in a gun shop with it, and as I said, I,m no great shot, although shooting with the HP I sure feel like one :D Thanks again for the info! EDIT: I should mention my buddy sold it to me, and now he reminds me how he had to practicaly force it on me!

<< I thought hollow point bullets were universally illegalized? >>

For military use, hollowpoints are indeed 'illegal.'

For civilian use in the US they are legal unless an advertising campaign gets a Liberal Gun Grabber's shorts in a knot and they get outlawed. Remember the
BLACK TALON? It's advertising alone got it banned! That would be funny is it wold not demonstrate so well how idiotic Gun Grabbers really are.

Hehehe... my uncle shot off two boxes of Black Talons a couple of days before they were banned, and forgot to stock up.... he still is quite pissed about that.

First of all Automatic weapons are not illegal to own...you have to register them with the ATF under the Machine gun act of 1939...as of 1968
you have to fill out a forum 4 from the ATF and have it signed by A local
Law Enforcement Agent IE. A Judge, Sheriff, or Chief of Police. then the FBI will run a background ckeck on you; if it comes back clean then you may purchase and own the weapon...second of all Black Talon ammo was never banned Winchester Voluntarily stopped selling it to the public after a liberal out cry suggested that the ammunition was not suited for
private use...and as far as favorite guns go I have 5 handguns, 5 rifles and 4 shotguns(for combat use that is)Handguns, Colt single action in 45 Colt, Colt 1911A1 45acp, Browning Highpower 9mm, Smith and wesson model 19 357 mag. with a 4" barrel, and a HK P7M13 in 9mm...Rifles, Winchester model 1873 in 45 Colt, 1903 Springfield 30-06, M1 Garand 30-06, Colt M16A2, and a Remington 700 Police sniper rifle in 300 Win. mag...Shotguns, Winchester model 1897 12ga, Winchester model 12, Remington 870 , and HK M1 super 90...and that's all I have to say about that... ;)

I have a few guns and my FAVORITE is my M60. Everyone in our gun club likes it to. It costs me about 200 bucks everytime I take it to the range and everyone has to shoot it. I also love the sound, puka puka puka.

The rail gun.

And the minigun from Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Tho it makes you move as slow as a snail It's cool. Great for hunting of small game birds and home defence. ;)
