Well, salt would be the obvious one. Other than that, regular black pepper and cayenne would come next. (Garlic doesn't count as a spice. 🙂)

My cumin tastes like salt...or so I've been told.

Yup, it's a great spice. I only discovered it about 2 years ago when following a Burrito filling recipe. It was a eureka moment and have been using it in my Chilli ever since.

I mix my own cajun seasonings with cayenne pepper, red pepper, lemon pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and kosher salt.

I'll put it on just about any piece of meat/fish/poultry that I cook.

Just had it in a rib rub, didn't use it before. The ribs had amazing flavor. What kind of things would I find cumin in or would I put it in?

Cayenne is my favorite right now though. On chicken wings it kicks ass.

I use it in all my smoking rubs. Cumin, cayenne, chili, garlic, coarse salt, pepper.....all good ingredients for a rub.
