The meat is sooo tender and has just a slight hint of a bbq-like sauce. The onions practically melt in my mouth. mmmmm....it was worth the wait...

Right out of the Crockpot

I burned the middle one a bit, but I'm sure it'll still be delicious. I cut up the big one on the bottom and put the other two back in the pot to get even more tender so I can make sandwiches with it for tomorrow. :)

Sauce

A mix of tomato paste, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, garlic and apple cider vinegar. I smeared it on both sides of the meat before placing it in the cooker.

Sliced up and put on a plate

the tangy tomato sauce sorta infused into the meat, but also mixed with the fat and formed a delicious sauce in the bottom of the crockpot. I poured some of that on top of the meat.

ugh, it was soo good. :)

Edit: Recipe
From "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook"

I highly recommend the cookbook if you're interested in crockpot cooking. 350 recipes for stews, soups, chili, desserts, etc.

Sauce - 3 oz tomato paste, 1/4 brown sugar, 2 TBS cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce, 1/8 tsp dry mustard, 2-3 cloves garlic.

3-4 pound brisket seasoned with salt, pepper and paprika.

2-3 small yellow onions.

Heat up a pan with some oil and brown the brisket quickly on each side on high. (2 minutes or so).

Cut up onions. Mix paste, sugar, vinegar, worcestershire, mustard and garlic to form sauce. Smear sauce on both sides of meat. Place layer of onions in the crockpot, then the meat, then the rest of the onions on top of the meat. Cover and cook for 5-7 hours, more if you want it super tender for sandwiches.

Try pork shoulder. Whip up a little Carolina style BBQ sauce and you can make awesome pulled pork sandwiches.
