I sold an HP Vectra (same as this, just different specs) awhile back to this guy who seemed nice enough.

He originally bought an LCD from me and said he was saving to buy a desktop, his first PC purchase ever. This should've been red flag #1. Anyhow, at the meet up for the LCD I told him about the HP I was going to list soon and he said he was very interested.

He called a few more times asking if it was ready, so I loaded it up and met him again. I went so far as to hook the desktop up in my SUV with a power inverter and show him around Windows. I spent ONE HOUR answering his questions about internet hook up, security, viruses, etc..

At the very end I say "Do you have ANY other questions?". He said "Nope, I'm 100% pleased.".

A few days later he calls, and the fun began.

Him: "You sold me the wrong size PC!"

Me: "Can you be more specific?"

Him: "This things too big to fit in the cabinet of my camper! You should've told me that!"

At first I'm thinking this is a joke, but I calmly reply:

"Sir, you never told me anything about size restraints, or that you live in a camper. You saw the physical size of the machine for a good hour while we talked about it and had no qualms then.....so I'm not really sure what you want me to do."

Him: "I WANT YOU TO GIVE ME MY MOTHERFUCKING MONEY BACK! YOU RIPPED ME OFF!"

Bare in mind, up until this phone call, the guy seemed like a really nice little old man.

Me: "That's not gonna happen, not in any universe I'm afraid. The deal is done."

Him: "Well....the least you can do is take the damn thing and sell it to someone else who can use it then give me the money from that or give me one that will fit!"

At this point it took everything in me just to laugh and hang up on him instead of chewing his ass out.

He never called again.

Moral of the story:

ALWAYS meet somewhere neutral. You never know what you'll run into on C.L.
