I listed a sealed Acer Aspire One 150 for $350, MSRP minus tax, if you can even find it in stock.

I then received the following offer:

Please Respond

THANK YOU
&
GOD BLESS

Normally I wouldn't even respond to such a lowball, but since they blessed me I decided to accept their offer.

"Sure, you can have the Acer Aspire for $100. There is a field along I-95S where several cows graze. I have hidden the laptop under a pile of cow shit. If you can find it, the laptop is yours. Please leave a $100 bill under the same shit pile. Thank you."

Waiting for a response.

My response would be -

Dear infidel, God says he hates cheap ass bitches like you and that you're going straight to hell.

Call me a coward, but I hesitate to send smartass replies when dealing with CL. Don't wanna run into some psycho stalker.

yup I love the low ballers on craigslist. but I also love the people who put electronics up at absurd prices and get offended when you offer them a fair price. most recent example was someone posting a 3 year old 50" DLP 720p for 1500 bucks, I offered him something like 600 bucks pointing out that best buy had the new 1080p model for 899 new. he said I was insane and refused. Still see the thing being posted at 1200 4 weeks later.

That's why you use an alternate e-mail and no last name ;)

But yeah, I suppose they could still find you by making a real offer under a different name and getting your address.

Here's one reason why I like craigslist:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/w4m/849955763.html

Here's the text of the ad in case it disappears:

Married woman looking for temp boyfriend - 38 (cupertino)

I am a married Asian woman, 5'3", 120lb. Live alone with my son (high school). My husband and I are seperated into two cities and I don't know what will be ahead of us. I need a temp boyfriend to be with me and if chemistry is ok, he must move in and rent one of my bedrooms. I am intelligent, high educated, smart and warm hearted. I am not looking for long term relationship...but for 2 or 3 months. You must be under 35 years old, white guy, kind hearted, at least has a college degree, financially and emotionally stable.

a pic will be helpful

Here's a woman who wants a financially stable college graduate, who presumably would be a pretty intelligent guy, to jump right into this completely fucked up situation.

lol

a few months back I saw a guy wanting to sell one of the original iMacs... the ones with the CRT tubes and the hockey puck mouse ya know... It started at $300. Two months later, after dropping week by week, he listed it for $10. Then he listed it for free.

I love how so many people think selling a laptop at MSRP minus tax is a deal on CL.

Good luck getting anywhere near 80% on that save from a sucker.

Two days ago I was selling two LCD tvs. (One a 26", the other a 32" both with built in DVD players) I had some dude tell me that because the TVs were no longer under warranty, that they both were worth no more than $200. He was arguing with me over the phone. "You have no idea how much these are worth, what I'm offering is an excellent deal" Over and over. I had to hang up on him.

The next day, I sold both of them for my asking price: $350 & $450, respectively. (Never mind that I paid $150 for each, on craigslist)

happens in the FS/FT section here also.

people think that something they paid 2k for 2 years ago is worth 1500. wisht hey would do a little research then they would find that teh item is new in store for 900.

You may not be too far off. It didn't happen on Craigslist but EBAY.

On the radio news recently they arrested a guy that was using opium poppies to flavor his beer. He bought them on EBAY and was arrested by the feds.

Vintage OUTHOUSE--FREE
Plank hardwood outhouse (2 seater) would make a cute garden shed or just use the plank for whatever project. Must be able to dismantle and remove by yourself& restore area to fill hole please. This is not a joke!! The outhouse is at least 60 years old. Site is 50 miles from Harrisburg, Williamsport or State College.

Wow! A 2 seater!

The XBRs are pretty nice TVs, actually; I had a 36" one a few years back and loved it. However, they're big and very heavy for their size. I ended up giving mine to a friend when I got my plasma.
