We're a bit spoiled when it comes to internet access in Montreal , Quebec , Canada. I'm getting 2400/660 for 35$ Canadian/month. These are my real speeds , ISP( Bell Sympatico) advertises 3000/800.

I also use cox in palos verdes california. It is very fast, but you pay a premium for it. I have the digital cable and high speed internet. $94 dollars a month. Cox also monitors bit torrent usage. They cut you off if your busted. Three strike policy, I'm on strike one.

you download at 2400kb/s? nuts

2400kb/s (300KB/s) is average

i'm on comcast cable in seattle and the advertised speeds here are 3.0/256 for $45

I know comcast is upgrading all their customers everywhere to 4.0/768 but the rollouts are going pretty slowly, and since i'm in Seattle i'll probably be one of the last to get them 🙁

Comcast here in Illinois/ 4.0/384, for 29.99 for 4 more months then 52.95 per... new upgrade will put me at 5.0/768 when it gets here 😀

Orrrr if you research even more, sign up at a retailer and it's 19.99 for 6 months 🙂

Anyways I have SBC myself, 6000/608. I average 600-630KB/sec.

Comcast NW Washington, 3mb/256mb $56 month ...almost always at rated speed..f'in better be too at the price I pay.

Verizon Online DSL Here

I laugh everytime I hear that....

"Verizon Online DSL" as opposed to their much less popular "Verizon Offline DSL"

I have Charter 3mb, $40/month.

Big Lar:

I'm stuck in Chicago with 768KBps ADSL (though there is a 1.5MBps upgrade, I havn't bothered), despite Comcast 4M being available: I live in a tower where everyone watched cable TV.

CableOne. Some sporadic downtime and they'll will shut you down if you "warez it up" too much and you'll also get a DMCA Notice as well. Not like Charter who will give the RIAA the finger.
The other benifits are 3mbit/30kbit. I also have complete newsgroup access - news.cableone.net and a solid 3mbit down. No need for p2p.
