With my room at about 40F (that's like 5C, if I'm doing my math right), my CPU idles at like 17C. full load is still under 40C. AF7Pro cooling an E6600 @ 3GHZ.

I'm dreading summertime. Last summer I was worried about temps and downclocked to 2.7GHZ.


There's really no point for this topic, I dunno why I posted it.

yeah... i'm totally with you man... winter's already beginning to leave me >.<
i could get idle temps at 20-25 C with my e2160 3.0 ghz and Pentium D 3.2 @ 3.8 ghz
 
so you'd rather freeze yourself sitting in 40F temps in front of your PC while your metal computer parts are a few C cooler?

i'd stay with my 72F room over a 40F room anyday lol.
 
When my computer starts overheating, I'll just go outside and play with my daughter; or something else. Warm weather is a good thing to me, it gets you out of your house, so you don't have to dick around on your computer!
 
But I live in an apartment, have no kids, and my girlfriend and I generally prefer videogames to any other "play" (other than the obvious... wink wink).

I love the cold.

That's cool. I was just showing a different point of view. Of course that "obvious" play leads to playing with the kids in the backyard ... which is fun too!

And no kids... no kids for a long time. We're not even sure we want kids ever. We're still discussing that.
 
so you're more comfortable sitting in your 40F room with your jacket and pants and socks on, than in a 70F room where you can wear a t shirt and PJ's or shorts?

have fun in the cold.. though u can OC your PC more and test it with the cooler temps. just to see if its stable

The way I figure, people of a less than exceptional IQ don't have any problem poluting the world with as many offspring as they can accidentally squeeze out so, it's my civic duty to pop out as many as I can manage to help offset the average IQ of the country. It became very clear to me when W got elected, twice. What's the saying? The blind leading the blind?
