Uh, without knowing how MUCH in game currency these characters cost it doesn't really matter. Every freemium game in existence allows you to earn premium stuff the "free way", but when you look at the prices it becomes clear it'll take months and months to save up enough free currency to get just one item.

Which is fine for some people. They might enjoy finally unlocking something they really wanted.

That's fine if it's realistically attainable. Most of the time it really isn't though, and it seems like they make it so difficult to attain everything for free that they're pushing you to pay for it.

To be honest almost all of the stuff you could buy that I can think of for street fighter 4 was cosmetic. It's not like if you didn't have alternate costume 4 color number 10 that it would make a difference in game play.

And, they gave a free update so you could SEE all the alternate costumes if you chose to. You actually had the option of not seeing any of the DLC costume packs at all.
