I love 1600x1200

I would just like to share with you, my comrades, that I love 1600x1200. I got this 19" Sony G410 back in December and have been using 1280x960 because I was used to 1024x768 on a 17". Now that I have gotten used to the smaller text on 1280x960, it has been easy to adjust to 1600x1200. If you are running your 19" at 1280x960, try 1600x1200 for a day, then try to go back!
If you use 1280x1024, please kill yourself now.

I use 1280x1024.

It's on a Dell 1900FP, though. 😉

Rob (actually running 1600x1200 on a Sony 520 and 1280x1024 on the 1900FP, duallie-style)

Depends if the monitor is 4:3 or 5:4.

I actually use 1024x768 on my 19". 🙂 1600x1200 would require me sitting much closer.

can you stand 2 total different monitors? I had 2 different 15" LCDs at work and I couldn't stand it.

I made a thread about 1600 x 1200 like a year ago. I flamed everybody below 1400 x 1050.

I think I got temp banned, don't remember...

I use a 22" CRT @ 1600x1200 and a 17" CRT @ 1152x768 (highest it'll support 85Hz). For me, the benefits of having two monitors far outweighs the "annoyance" of having two different monitors.

Angry at a resolution.. this board has hit a new low.

Not new and not lower than any previous low either. You must not pay attention very well. 😛

For me, it would also be worth it but nah, really couldn't stand it 😉 Rather 2 bad/same LCDs then 1good/1bad/different LCDs.

1024x768 here at work cause that's as high as the video card allows. I could go higher at home on my ATI Radeon, but my eyes are bad enough as it is.

I have a 19" G400 and I ran it at 1600X1200 for a while, but I found myself leaning close to the screen so I could read the text because it was so small (was running on a matrox g450). So now I run it at 1280X1024 which is perfect for me. Its all a matter of personal preference which resolution is better.

Refresh rate is too low with 1600x1200 on this monitor. 1792 x 1344 is even worse. If it was 85hz at either res, then I'd use it.

Honestly, it doesn't bug me at all. I'm not a style whore, and it's at work, so I can't complain. 21" of goodness on one side (used for programming, DB stuff, email and server windows), and 18" of goodness on the other (for AT, trillian, etc.).

It's not about style, it just... an annoyance that really really bugs me hehe. I'm a total chaotic person but things like that just have to be perfect 😉
