My father, Robert Pugliese worked in tower 1 on the 100th floor for marsh mclennon. At first we had hope that he made it out but after the days and weeks went by hope vanished.

It was my worst nightmare come true. I wake up and my mom came home from work and said terrorists crashed planes into the world trade center. I didnt believe it at first but there it was on tv, both buildings on fire. Later on my dad's friend called and said he was on the phone with my dad when it happened but the phone just went dead. The upper floors on tower 1 looked to be engulfed in fire and smoke. Tons of people came over and helped us in many ways over the following days and weeks.

On Saturday we held a memorial service for my dad. Over 600 people showed up, I was amazed. The community really cared.

My dad was always the first one in to work because his company had flex hours. He would get up at 4:30 every morning and get into work at 7:00(he had to commute a couple hours each way) and he would get home at 6:00. If he came in at 9:00 when most of the employees did we would barely see him on weekdays.

The unbelieveable happened to me, it still hasent sunk in, I always take deaths of my realatives bad, this will take me a lot of time to heal. Life isnt fair.

How were you affected by this tragedy? Did you lose a loved one?

My condolences... I can't imagine the emotions that you have inside of you, but take comfort that we will not let your fathers life, and thousands of others, go unnoticed.

I didnt lose a loved one.. and in fact I sorta blocked the whole thing outta my head... then i was at an outdoor concert and the drummer of a band had "a song to sing" i was expecting to hear a funny song.. turns out the kid's mom died in the WTC... it was the saddest song i've ever heard... it finally hit me.. what happened... At first i was kinda pissed how people were suddenly patriots only when bad things happen. That day i got all teary every time i saw an american flag... i dunno...

I'm sorry to hear this. I don't know what to say ... I don't think my words will help you in any way, but you have my deepest condolences.

I know a few personal friends whos parents were both lost in the attack.

They come to University at Buffalo, I can't imagine finishing this semester.

A real close family friend has had to deal with the fact that she was asked to work late that week, and was just outside the building when it happened. Unfortunately, approximately 90 people in her company didn't make it. :(

Wow, I don't know what to say... I'm lost for words as there is obviously not much I can say to make it easier for you. My condolences to you and your family. I hope there is strength in you to pull yourself through these tough times.

I'm all sad now... :(

Thanks guys. My parents moved out of the bronx when I was a baby, they didnt want me, my brother and sister to have to grow up in the city. Both my mom and dad had tough childhoods and wanted to provide a better life for us.

Too bad my dad and his coworkers couldent work in his company's main building on 6th avenue.

BTW does anyone know why rescue helicopters didnt take people off the roof? I believe they should have had enough time to do so. Also which floors were damaged by the plane crash/explosion?
