😕

And other than football come lately (nevermind the lost coach Petrino), what does Louisville have to do with that? 😛

The University of Kentucky went to a bowl game with Rich Brooks as the head coach. Brooks built up the University of Oregon program and took them to a Rose Bowl. Kentucky has also been great in basketball.

Louisville has been really good in basketball.

Muhammed Ali is from Louisville, although I don't like mentioning him. Ali is one of those guys that everyone seems to love, but I can't get passed him being an arrogant thug who loved himself way too much. He's no better than Terrell Owens' personality.

LOL Blanco. I know UK went to a bowl game and won. I graduated from UK and live about 7 miles from campus in Lexington. 😛

Louisville sucks! (sorry Spidey) 😉

Ali is great. Not great enough to keep me from wanting to send Louisville and the tards to Indiana though! 😛

By the way everyone: I grew up in Martin County! 😀 😛 :Q

Do you know why UK grads hang their diploma in their car windshield?

So they can park in the Handicap parking spaces.

Yeah I also don't understand what's wrong about going by County if it's easier. Nothing wrong with living in a small area 🙂

I'd be really happy about Rich Brooks being their coach! He was hardly given any credit this year for what he's done. He's a legendary college coach, and while I grew up rooting against him (Washington fan), I long for the days when Oregon wasn't all about ugly uniforms, sleezy coaching, and Nike handouts.

My car has a windshield? 😱

<=== Goes to look...doesn't believe spidey! 😀

Edit: Just got back. Forgot that I took the windshield out of the car to frame my degree with it...on my living room wall. Silly me! 😱

Why the Louisville hate?

Louisville native here, and I think it really is a pretty nice city. I understand the sports rivalry, but otherwise never quite got the animosity some people have between Louisville and Lexington.

I live about 2 miles off campus, work full time and just started back up in school to finish up my bachelors. I'm actually at the UK library right now supposedly getting some busy work done.

Props to Muhammed Ali.

Where were you in the limo with the mac10 op? Have to say that I've never come across that situation in my years.

I don't hate Louisville. Just poking fun, especially at spidey! 😉

Oh nowhere real bad. Blue Moon, and then one of them bad country bars. Saddle Ridge I think. I don't need to go back there. Blue Moon was ok.

We just had the limo because a friend's gf's dad owns the company. So she can take it out for the cost of gas + tip if it's not booked. It was hilarious pulling up to Blue Moon in a huge stretch SUV. Everybody was looking at us trying to figure out why we had a limo.

Yea, I wouldn't go out of my way for either of those places. In fact I don't think I've managed to hit up any really nice bars in lexington. A few good restaurants, but no super bars.

Louisville is consitently ranked in the 10 ten for restaurants. Local music scene as well.

"i'm from grayson county"... "i'm from meade county"...

frigging ridiculous to me that people live in areas that are so damn small that they just say their county rather than their town... they don't even say "i live in a town that's a half an hour south of lexington" or anything... they just say "_________ county"

Whoa!
I live in Grayson County, my Daughter lives in Meade County!

IIRC, Louisville and Lexington are both top spots for restaurants. Both are test beds for new items on many menus. At one point in the late 1990's, Lexington had more restaurants per capita than any city in the US. Not sure now.

Edit: Apparantely all restaurants in Kentucky are in Louisville or Lexington as Kentucky ranks 50th (out of 51 including DC) in restaurants per capita overall...hehe! 😛

Lexington does have some very fine restaurants. Good 5 star southern food.

Malone's FTW!

-edit-
Engineer, we don't need no stinkin' restaurants. We gots plenty of possum to go 'round fur everwun.

I've been to Malone's and it was pretty good. Not sure if it were the best but it was pretty good. Service was somewhat slow though, IMO.

Haven't tried there, I'll put it on the list but we've been cutting back on going out. We love Gumbo ya-ya, it's good new orleans food, and much better than bourbon and touluse(sp?)

Spidey if you get a chance and like burgers(unhealthy!) try Ollie's Trolley on 2nd and kentucky, great burgers(extra sauce) and fries(extra seasoning), problem is they are only open till I think 4 or 4:30 and only during the week.

Throw them L's up!

I lived in Lexington Fayette Urban County for awhile and also Woodford County - Versailles (that's pronounced Ver-saales for you uneducated folk). Best restaurant in Lexington is The Kashmir on Limestone. Best restaurant in Versailles, bar none, is Subway. For the best food in Kentucky you have to head to the Purchase for Starn's Barbeque in Paducah and the Whistling Pig in Fulton. Patti's Settlement in Grand Rivers has the best pork chops on this whole earth.

You forgot the best part about Versailles and KY in general....

The bourbon.

Who wouldn't love a state where the biggest money makers are Gambling, Booze, Smokes and mari-jane?
