my system is currectly a moblie xp 2200 and a 1800 overclocking to 2+ ghz via pinmod, i was wondering if many of you guys that have overclocking system of ahlon 64 in which the cpu is lock..does your bios reset to default setting if saying you turn your pc off improperly or if system crash/freeze..cuz i like to have the overclocking hardware lock so i dont have to go back to the bios and overclock it again..and again ..that is i want the overclocking to be permanet just like my unlock xp cpu..

A64 should act the same way your XP does. The A64's are top locked on the multi, you can lower the multi but not raise it, but everything else is unlocked.

Some boards will reset the bios to defaults if they fail to boot with the O/C settings, but once you find good settings(that will boot) they will stay.

Usually depends on the motherboard. Some will not boot until you change the settings, some will automatically reboot and some will tell you that your OC failed an defaults were loaded. If your overclock was stable to begin with, the BIOS normally won't touch it and you'd be fine in those scenarios. But if the OC is the reason for the crash then you probably need to do some bios tweaking anyway.

so all of you overclock with bios? no jumper or pinmod on the amd64 cpu/mobo? i just want to overclock it and not bother with the bios ever again. so my question is , does any of the amd64 mobo have fsb jumper that can set to 300mhz or 250mhz ..which would be hardware lock

Current mobos usually let you overclock via the BIOS instead of physically setting jumbers on the mobos.

If it fails at the overclocks speed, the BIOS then reset itself to a speed that's guaranteed to be stable.
