Nice place, 2nd floor town home, garage, QUIET, laundry inside the apartment.

my budget is $1300 for a new apartment. This is $1500/month, but I really like it and I've been looking for a place to live for 4 months now. I do side work on the side so if I increase that it should offset.

Take it? Leave it?

eeck...these threads always make my spine hurt. I can't imagine paying $1500 a month on rent, but I realize that sum plus a lot more is typical in larger metropolitan areas. I'm griping over a $1600 a month mortgage payment.

And that's the exact reason why I'll never move back to a metropolitan area. Housing is a complete and total ripoff.

For the price this guy's looking at paying to RENT a small (probably about 750sf) townhome, he could have a house and LAND just an hour further out.

its really not a rip off. you're paying for your location, plain and simple.

comparing his rent to a mortgage payment for a house in bumblefuk b/c the payments are the same is pointless and counterproductive to the forum :)

I can't say that Bridgewater is going to be any better than the Boro. 287 is the closest thing to a highway in this area. How is your current work commute?

287 to the parkway... it takes me 15 minutes just to get ON 287 in the morning, and half an hour after that (I'm only a few minutes South of the Driscol, in Holmdel).

Oh, and boro = my parents :)

BIG difference.

I've lived on my own for 5 years and moved back with them 3 months ago when I coudln't find a place to move to from College.

Just make your "friend" thats going to stay there that you're madly in love with that won't give you anything meaningful like a relationship, pay towards the rent some.

My 2 bedroom 2 bath 820 sq foot apartment with washer and dryer connections is $620 a month. For $1500 month i could just go get a house.

yes I bet all you naysayers have the same income as people here in the Tri-state area

rents are high but so is income

not for fresh out of college grads. All my friends live in the tri state area including myself. I know only a handful making more than 50k.
