I like the radio.

It doesn't require me to keep thousands of songs organized all the time.
It doesn't require me to constantly be downloading new stuff to keep from getting bored.
It introduces me to new music.
It doesn't require me to spend hours creating playlists.

It's just so much more convenient than trying to keep up my own music library. I don't want to spend hours researching new bands online to see who might be worth listening to. I like the fact that the radio does this for me.

Listening to internet radio right now.

That's true, but a lot of the songs on the radio suck. The only stations I like listening consistently are classic rock stations, and you're not going to find new music on them.

I have no own music collection, too. The thing is, I only listen to it when I specifically want to hear something from my collection. If I always listen to my own music, like some people do, I get bored with it.

My friend has over 100gigs of music. He never listens to the radio, but he spends a lot of time creating playlists and burning CDs so that he doesn't have to listen to the same thing over and over. That's way too much hassle for me.

You can't listen to internet radio in the car. There is no modern rock at all in Philadelphia until around 3PM. Only choice is satellite or portable player.

Sucks to be in Philadelphia. How can a giant city like that not have a modern rock station?

Radio music suck 90% of the time. Plus ad's plus repeating songs it's all terrible in the car. I don't know what I'd do w/o my mp3 player when driving.

There's YSP and MMR.

We have two. One is talk until 7PM (YSP). The other is officially rock all day (MMR) - but has the worst DJ known to man on until 3PM. Thinks he has a talk show, but he's neither funny or intelligent. During his shift the non music to music ratio is probably about 3:1...

I've heard a lot of complaints about Pierre Robert.

I don't know why, but I prefer the subtle decrease in quality of radio over digital music. Of course, I'll take a CD or my iPod through a tape adapter over commercials or crappy songs.

I just wanted to add that this is quite possibly the worst online radio station to listen to, the ads are annoying and the popups are intrusive.

I guess the music isn't too bad, but a lot of what they're playing I've heard before.
