With the black color theme the new forums are quite appealing. The new user icons are pimp. I was getting bored anyway. Change is good.
 
Safari blocks popups, so no problems there for me. And I like the black color scheme as well. The only think I don't care for is the exact date that people joined up. It was fine as just Month/Year before.

How would you reply/quote/edit if Safari blocks the pop-ups? I use the quick reply most of the time, but to edit it would have to pop up another window.

Oh, well in Safari you can have it block all popups except those that you directly navigate too, i.e. the reply window that pops up. I am using this particular popup to write you this fine reply 😉

Just another reason to get yourselves a Macintosh! 🙂 (Proceed with the "macs are crap" flames)...
 
The only things I really don't like is that old topics which may have gotten a reply are now put back on the "Your Latest Messages" in the My Forums, and that you can only select the the current, previous and next pages on the main topic lists of forums. Meaning if you are trying to manually search for a post, you have to go page by page, you can't jump back 3 or 4 pages at a time to get back a few days faster.


These things are REALLY bothering me, and that isn't really a "I just want a reason to complain" thing, these are usuability issues that for some stupid reason changed from the previous version.

The "Reply to a msesage" box doesn't retain themes, either, but I think that's not really something to complain about.

Other than that, I've warmed up to the new look.

Those are the only pop-ups there. I wasn't talking about ad pop-ups. Google toolbar blocks any pop-ups for me just fine.
 
Thanks to the stylesheets, the forums may well be almost as good as they used to be 😀:beer:
 
I've already forgotten what the old forums looked like, and the separate reply window is growing on me. If you use a tabbed browser it just appears as another tab.
