I like it. Everything looks good to me, although it is a bit slower than usual. It looks nice, it feels a little smoother, a worthy upgrade to fusetalk. My only gripe would have to be the crazy guy icon, WTF did you do to it!:p

Well as i have all the icons and other pretty stuff turned off...My Humble Opinion

-Colors are nice, clean looking, almost using them to make the boards look refreshing and bright :)
-Visible size of everything looks smaller, much more jibber-jabber fits in the same space as before. :)
-Shows 542 people logged in, i hope the board does not continue to get slower, it seems a bit slow. :( Time will tell...
-All around i could easily get used to it, as long as performance doesn't suffer. :)

I like the idea Anand is willing to push the technology around to see what its capable of, fits nicely in the theme of Anandtech...

<< I agree, the old forums were more simple and elegant. Now it looks like all the other cluttered forums on the internet. >>

My thoughts exactly.

I like the new design... it's pretty cool. Haven't checked all the new features though. Will do it later on when I have spare time....

I don't like it. The font is too small now :( I really liked the forums before

I don't like the looks of the new emotes either.

For example, I used to think the wink emote was so cute. ;)

But it doesn't look so cute anymore.

Also, where's the preview button so we can look at what our replies look like before we reply?

Edit: Okay, the wink emote is still pretty cute but the mad emote doesn't look as good to me.

Let me see what the embarrassed emote looks like:

is there really a reason for the preview button?

your post looks almost exactly the same as when you type it?!?!

I used to bold and italic certain sections of my reply so having preview was good in case I forgot the closing tag.

Sure does take some getting use to. But it's a nice upgrade. The speed does need to pick up.

Oh, no! Has anyone looked at the new "Today" page? I hate to crap on this again, but the new design is a major step backwards. I use the Today page to follow up on posts I've replied to and now the thread list is shoved to a sidebar and the list doesn't have the timestamps anymore. Those colored folder icons aren't the most accurate...timestamp is far more valuable.

<< Upgrades should be used to fix things that don't work. >>

Boy, I'm glad you don't work in software :)

Enhancements/Upgrades are not just for fixes. Where would we be if applications 10 years ago were solid enough not to warrant an update?

It looks ok, but it will take some getting used to.

And are there buttons missing? Holy jeez! The thread/forums buttons only seem to be there while posting -- am I imagining this!?

-geoff

PS - when I tab from this text box where I'm composing this post, it goes to the top ad, not the "reply to thread" button -- it looks like the tab order is off... annoying.

edit:
Nevermind about the thread/forum thing. It's in the bottom left as FORUMS>OFF TOPIC (both being links) when you're not posting and in the bottom right as FORUMS : THREADS when you are posting. This is really counter-intuitive.
