I let my friend forge my signature...is it ok?

There's nothing criminal about it, but it probably violated the contract you have with your credit card company. If they ever found out about it they might take it away. But then again, they want you as a customer, so they probably don't care.

Don't make a habit of it.

Your friend may be technically commiting fraud. With your permission, I dunno if that counts. This isn't really a big deal.

I'm not at all concerned about her using the number to buy stuff w/out my consent....all i'm concerned is that if she uses my card, and signs it, will we get in trouble in any way even though I let her....I guess if it is forgery for her to use my name, can she sign her name and I can confirm the charges if they call?

No. It is only a problem for her if you turn around and say that you did not signed it and that someone forged your signature. In the end if they ask you if that is your signature all you do is say yes. If it looks different than your normal one just say you were tired or drunk. Ultimately it doesn't have to be you that signs it, unless they are watching you.

Fraud is only if it is done without your knowledge. It would also be fraud if she signed it and charged it then he knowlingly constested it for some type of gain.

Hahaha, that was the first thing I thought of when I started reading this thread.

It's not fraud if you authorize her to use your credit card. You are designating her as an agent to use your credit card. It's legal, and I've done it plenty of times.

How do you think generous parents pay for a kid's book at college?

Jeez, wuss.

BTW you're fine.

You should really be a gentleman and pay for the meals sometime.
