When in doubt, toss it.

Food is too plentiful & cheap to risk food poisoning over.

Marge: Homer, I found this behind the radiator. I really think you should throw it away.
Homer: Suggestion noted.

How hot was it in the car?

If it was over say 70 degrees, I'd toss it.

If it is store bought mayonaise, you'll be fine. Just be sure to keep your computer and your toilet nearby.

Dude you guys are a bunch of wusses. I leave sandwiches with mayo and mustard in the car for 5-6 hours at a time, chow it down with no ill effects. Quit being weak, and show that you're a man.

I bought a Big Mac and ate half of it. I wrapped it back up, set it on the car seat for a few hours, then ate the rest.

Six hours later I was riding in my girlfriends car, hanging out the window puking my guts out.
