Isn't there a drive utility for maxtor drives or what ever that allows you to select like 3 modes, performance mode, quiet mode and something else mode? I remember running this utility on one of my drives and need to change my drive to something else but forgot what it was. I tried powermax and maxblast4 on bootable disk but I couldn't see the option to chanege something like that.

I never heard of something like that. Maybe it's hidden in Maxblast?

Ah, It was an HDD acoustic management program. Still Can't remember where I found it though Drive works fine, but I moved it from primary machine to server and while I could use better performance, I need the drive to be quiet instead.
