Ok, I have all the GH and RB games. My biggest issue with the GH games is the horrendous Digital 5.1 sound. Please, can someone confirm this has been fixed in GH:WT? Do the songs sound as good as RB1 and 2 as far as the digital encoding? I notice in ALL the GH games the sound is horrible in surround sound. When going into starpower it sounds great, but when just playing its sounds like crap. Please let them have fixed this.

I've never been to a concert with 5.1 sound, so I don't know why you would start with guitar hero =P

I'm not sure what your looking for. I do notice the crowd coming from the surround speakers, I hear them singing along, not as much as RB but I do hear them at times. When you hit star power you can really hear the echo.

What I mean is that the previous Guitar Hero games had horrible sound in digital 5.1, rockband did a much better job with the encoding for digital sound than the GH games for the 360. GH sounded ok in regular 2.1 but when hooked up to my stereo in DD 5.1 it sounds like shit. Many people have already confirmed the crappy sound in 5.1 from GH series in the last few years, I just wanted to know if they did a better job in WT.

yeah, thats one of the things I didnt dig, when going into star power thats when surround really kicked in on the GH games. In RB it is not so noticable as the sound mix was basically 5.1 all the time, not just at certain moments.

Its better.
Better than RB IMO....
You have to put your reciever in Music Mode. it helps a lot with the sound.

With the previous GH games I played with all the options on my receiver and could never get the right sound, with RB I just put it in autodetect and it sounds great. Glad its been improved. My copy should be coming in today or tomorrow.

I think it has to do with them setting up the sound for Prologic and music mode combined.
If you dont push the button my reciever tries to do things with that sound that make it jacked up. Its terrible not in music mode FYI...
