to share DSL connection with another computer.

Wireless router? how much is cheapest?

What else except the router I need?

The easiest way to do it is to get something like a Linksys BEFSR41 wired router - you'll need to run ethernet cables wherever the comptuers are though. If you want wireless, it'll be about 50% more expensive, but it's also cooler and more convenient.

My parents have a BEFSR41 and it's been running for almost a year with no problems. Lots of people put off Linksys products, but I also have their 802.11b wireless router here in the condo, and I've had nothing but good things to say about it.

heh...yeah...that's easier 🙂 Brain is fried today.

Wireless router + wireless adapter (for as many PCs as you need).

BTW, you will definitely need to work on security if you go wireless.

If it wasn't too much hassle, I'd just string the cat5 through the ceiling or wherever. You can go 328ft without a repeater or switch I believe.

no.

think of it like a cordless phone.

the phone is the Wireless Adaptor (what I linked) and the phone's base is the Wireless Router. The Adaptor gets the signal from the Router (like the phone gets the signal from the base).
