i know my cpu is the bottleneck but what cpu should i upgrade to to prevent that

I just bought all the parts for the above rig. I know before even putting it together the cpu is going to bottle neck the vide card. I have a Chaintech NF2 mATX mobo with a gig of 3200 corsair, 6800NU leadtek, and 2200+. Without having to replace the mobo with a newer one, can I upgrade to a cpu that will work with that mobo and won't bottle neck the entire system?

I was thinking a 2500+ or better then overclocking it.

thoughts?

Just wait until you can afford an A64 and new motherboard. Why bother getting another socket A?

Why don't you overclock your 2200+?

even if i hit 2ghz with it, wouldn't it still bottleneck me pretty bad?

No not that bad I had my 2100+ get 2.25 ghz ran really well I never should have sold it! sell it and get a 754 mobo refurbished for $40 :)

Yeah, my sempton 2200+ (OCed to 2GHz) works fine to me. 512M + 9800XT
Don't want to upgrade now, hehe.

same here, i'm waiting on quake 4. this 9500 pro, gig of 2100 and 1800+ i'm on now runs hl2 at medium settings, 1024 res with 2xaf,2xaa

when i get that 6800 and 2200+ it should run it like butter, well at least good enough to wait on another upgrade

Just curious....Why do you specify 90nm A64?? there are other flavours of A64 out there...only thing 90nm is better for is possibly OC'ing

Also the 6800-Non-U will run fine...just not full speed......It kind of makes sense to buy a card that is faster than the system.....one less part to upgrade when he gets round to it!
