I was thinking of getting an iPod for my gf this Christmas. I've never really used one (in regards to getting the music into the iPod). So I'm wondering if you can pretty much put any mp3 in or what the limitations are if any. Do I have to use Itunes?
 
The iTunes software is decent as far as transfering songs to the iPod. It's also great for managing your podcasts. I think it sucks for music playback, but a lot of people seem to disagree with me.
