I am sure they can finish what late and great Black Isle have started and I bet the game will do great since alot of users with older systems will be able to enjoy it alot more, maybe we should start the petition...

Bethesda has no interest as they've already released their own incredibly popular Fallout 3.

Van Burren was likely too complicated for modern audiences. Oblivion style "RPGs" are the future.

I didn't like Fallout 3 that much and I liked Oblivion and loved Morrowind. I'd rather have Bethesda make Fallout games more like their own games than try to make a mishmash.

Better yet they should remake Morrowind :)

Just don't dumb it down like Oblivion :(
I especially hate Oblivions combat compared to morrowinds :|

Making a true RPG title is beyond Bethesda's skill level. Perhaps if they were to license it to another studio with some experience in story driven, multi-character RPGs.

Really? Morrowind had absolutely terrible combat. But I do wish Morrowind could be remade with Crysis-like graphics and decent combat. That would be amazing.

Honestly, like most mods, I don't think this one will ever get finished, but it's fun to dream.

I'm not here to grind any axes about this game vs. that, but I will suggest that it wouldn't seem to me to hurt the value of their I.P. to assign some old school team to finish up the V.B. Project, while keeping the budget modest. Even as a Steam-only title I believe the release would generate a lot of interest.

Or how about this: offer the V.B. project in some form of completion as bonus content along with some future release of Fallout 3 expansion (or F4, if the time table doesn't work out). Or maybe F3 gold + V.B. Project. Like the old song said, it doesn't cost a dime to dream :)

I really miss autoblock and not getting thrashed around as badly. Also almost no sense in having block or blade skill points when only thing important is your timing. At least the enchantment recharging is fixed through a mod.

I miss making tons of potions of levitation and using a bow from on high to slay stupefied enemies...

Oh ya that too, healthing potions that heal faster than the enemy can inflict damage LOL or jump across the entire island.

One of my favorites was nighteye that lasted several hours.

But since Van Buren was mostly complete, it wouldn't take much investment to get a complete game and release it. It would sell well amongst the cult fans of Fallout and might even attract those who are knew to the franchise, too.

It seems like an obvious way to produce a quick income stream to me. They've paid for the rights and have access to Van Buren, why not spend a year finishing it and make an easy buck?

The PLANNING was mostly complete. The game didn't really exist beyond the leaked demo.
