I'm on hold with a car stereo store and the automated message says "I know, being stuck on hold sucks, but someone will be right with you."

Being on hold with the VA isn't so bad. They play some good music. I'm kinda sad when I am not on hold because then I am like, "Aww.. it was such a good song." What's more impressive is the people you get to talk to from the VA. They're all very professional sounding and you can understand them quite well.
