You really get use to it (I hated that as well at first). However, once you find out that google reads your mind, thus enters in the right address with just a few key strokes, it becomes annoying to use another web browser.

I keep typing in a few letters into FF or IE and hitting enter only to have it go to the wrong address.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to use Opera. I always get right up to the point of downloading it and then say "Ah, screw it, I'll stick with X" X being FF, Chrome, or even IE.
